The Davis approach is not based on tutoring or drill, but actually resolves the root cause of dyslexia (and other learning problems like ADD and ADHD), not just the symptoms.  Dyslexia is a product of thought and a special way of reacting to confusion.  It is not limited to reversals of letters and words.

The Davis method does not rely on instruction based on phonics, or use physical devices such as colored overlays or large print books. Nor does the Davis method rely on medications or herbal treatments.
